Working at Abbeyfield

What we do

Abbeyfield provides community living accommodation for elderly people.  It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for our residents through excellent accommodation in a stimulating environment to help maintain a socially active life.

We have around 1,500 employees within our centrally managed service, plus a further 3,000 staff working in our Member Societies throughout the UK.  We run a varied mix of Sheltered Housing, Care Homes, Independent Living with Care and Extra Care schemes across England.

We have a Head Office, based in St Albans, consisting of central support functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, Audit & Compliance, Health & Safety).  The operation is run out of 3 regions; East, North and West.

Abbeyfield is more than a home; it’s a neighbourhood, a community, a family. Our core behaviours are to be welcoming to everyone, celebrate the positives, work collaboratively, take responsibility, and be adaptable to changing circumstances.

Best of all, we’re a charity, meaning that the interests of our valued staff and residents sit at the heart of what we do, not shareholders.
