Your role will entail as follows: Plan, organize, and manage ground works projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers Monitor project costs, including labour, materials, and equipment, to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness. Must be able to manage 3-5 projects at any one time In-depth knowledge of all aspects of Groundworks and Civils and the relevant legislative requirements, including health and safety. Management skills and ability to drive your team to deliver safely, on-time and on budget. The ability to use your initiative and be proactive Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance on construction sites. Proficient in cost control and budget management. Contracts Manager

With over 20 years’ experience, this market-leading Civil Engineering and Groundworks company are subcontractors to both regional and national housebuilders. With a turnover of c 100 million they are financially stable and growing organically. Projects include 278 works, residential groundworks, footpaths, roads, sewers and earthworks. Responabilities: You’ll be using your excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships and manage suppliers, negotiating prices, and placing orders. Including: • Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials. • Liaising with the on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials, of the highest quality. • Monitoring the performance, quality, prices and development of suppliers. • Identify new potential suppliers and products. • Prepare quotations and proposals. • Attend team meetings and site visits. • Prepare and maintain cost reports to maximise efficiency. The company have an excellent opportunity for Senior Quantity Surveyor that is looking for a step up in responsibility and gain invaluable experience and to progress their career with a highly reputable company, within a high standards and high rewards environment. Responsibilities: Controlling costs of groundworks projects to ensure they are running efficiently, effectively, profitably and safely. Measure all site works accurately Provide early cost advice to client on variations Identify commercial risks and provide appropriate solution / response Undertake costs analysis working with Company buyers and advise on procurement / cost control. Produce a range of cost value reports. Value completed work, ensuring timely payments. Understand importance of cash flow and timely payments, including retention payments. Build strong relationships with client staff and company production staff. Allocate work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required. Assist with the development of any assistants / trainees.
