Overview: Crowe’s growing Global Business Solutions department provides outsourced accounting and tax services to multinational companies . The Assistant will work as part of a management accounts team. Job Description: Assisting more experienced members of the team with a portfolio of international clients, to deliver finance functions provided by the Firm, which will include: o Payroll o Accounts payable processing and payment o Management of client funds o Employee expenses reimbursement o Management accounts o VAT and other indirect taxes o International HR This will involve posting accounts payable invoices and expense claims onto accounting systems, raising payments to be made out of client bank accounts, and checking the completeness of payroll and other services completed by the Firm’s overseas offices Other services as required such as setting up the bookkeeping in Xero or other accounting systems, and setting up beneficiaries on banking systems Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts in dual currencies Assisting the Compliance team with queries relating to year end statutory accounts and compliance. Attending calls with clients and making notes of actions Liaising with third parties in the UK and overseas offices to follow up on services being provided Responding to client queries Escalating any issues or concerns to the Team Senior/Supervisor Performing administrative duties for the team Dealing with ad hoc queries and using initiative in different situations Delivering all work to set deadlines Required attributes: A desire to study for an accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/AAT) Organised and able to deal with multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks appropriately. Excellent communication skills, and an ability to gain trust and develop relationships quickly. Able to share knowledge within the team and carry out research as needed. Awareness of risk, and ability deliver high quality documents first time IT skills - ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting systems, such as Xero, NetSuite etc. An interest in the big picture around what Global Business Solutions and the wider Firm can offer to our clients. This is a permanent role with opportunities for progression. Whilst the preference is for full-time, we would also welcome applicants for a four-day week. The clients will be a mix of: Large or Listed companies Multi-National Entities Family Owner Managed Businesses Not For Profit bodies (e.g., schools, charities, membership organisations etc). This role offers variety and interesting work so if you’re an Assistant Manager looking for a step up or a manager looking for a new and exciting challenge with scope for progression read on…. You will work closely with the tax partner and directors, overseeing larger or more complex compliance work with a portfolio of existing clients, ranging from owner-managed companies to quoted groups and delivering UK and cross-border special and project-based work. You will also be involved in business development initiatives and working with the team to generate new work. You should be qualified CTA (or equivalent) with practical tax experience (e.g. managing compliance for large groups, audit of tax, and Research &amp; Development claims, would be ideal). You will also be able to work as part of a team, liaising with other tax specialists (locally, nationally, and internationally), and audit and corporate finance colleagues whilst using your own initiative. The role requirements CTA or equivalent qualification essential. Significant Corporate Tax and tax accounting experience on a range of advisory and compliance projects. A passion for client service. Job Description Preparing and reviewing UK statutory financial statements in accordance with the applicable UK financial reporting framework and standards (i.e. FRS 102) Plan, schedule and coordinate audit work and assisting with all audit queries coordinating with both internal accounting teams and drafting clear, concise and accurate emails for clients Ensuring compliance work is delivered inside deadlines, with minimal supervision Supporting the Compliance Team on assigned tasks and clients; drafting responses to client queries, dealing with ad-hoc queries and using initiative in different situations Escalating any issues or concerns to the Compliance line manager as appropriate Assisting with compliance work for non-UK companies. Training will be provided for handling third parties Required Attributes Previous experience in UK statutory financial preparation, review and/or audit, gained within public practice, preferably within a business solutions or audit environment.
