Top companies hiring May 2019

It’s gonna be May…

OK, so May might be less synonymous with finding a new job, and more with bank holidays, that N–Sync meme, and excessive hayfever (thanks, pollen). But what if you could use this month to spring-clean your career, and finally find a job you don’t hate waking up for?

To help motivate you, here are five of the top companies hiring this May:

Buyagift

Buyagift prides itself on (literally) delivering happiness, through a wide range of unique gifts and experiences suitable for even the most fussy of friends.

Searching for bottomless brunch at discount prices? They’ve got you covered. Want to go bungee jumping? Look no further. Always wanted to take a ride in a hot air balloon? You’ve come to the right place.

In fact, they sell over 500,000 gifts and experiences each year. And this month, their fast-growing head office of over 100 employees is looking for more staff to help them sell even more.

But what’s in it for you? With a foundation that’s built on people who communicate, collaborate, and create exciting experiences, being a Buyagift employee is almost no different to what they give to their customers (you know, just with infinitely less skydiving).

Ready to get involved? Now’s your chance. Whether you want to work in marketing, admin, or merchandising, Buyagift have got the role for you.

And remember: leaving it till the last minute: bad for presents, and jobs…

Location: Borehamwood.

Haribo

Let’s face it, whether you’re five or fifty (because kids and grown-ups really do love it so), there’s little that can’t be solved with a packet of Tangfastics.

Offering a wide selection of sweets, from Starmix to Goldbears, Haribo have become one of the best-known confectionary brands. And whilst the company has been in production in Germany as far back as the 1920s, it’s been a go-to choice for Brits since it came to the UK in 1972.

But they didn’t become Europe’s biggest manufacturer of sugary goods without a great team. And that’s where you come in.

This May, they’re primarily looking for Field Sales Representatives (as well as National Field Account Managers) across the UK, to help develop excellent in-store relationships with key decision makers, and ultimately maximise brand awareness and product opportunities.

At the very least, you’ll get to eat a lot of Haribo.

Fun fact: all Goldbears used to frown, in anticipation of their untimely end (AKA being eaten). It was only in 2007 that Haribo put a smile on their faces. Now everyone’s happy.

Location: Across the UK.

Homebase

Need to find the perfect shade of lilac for your hallway? Looking for a garden fence? Desperate for a new spade? Homebase has got it.

Not only are they one of the UK’s leading home improvement and garden retailers, they also employ 11,500 people in 249 stores across the country. Meaning there’s plenty of room for you to become a part of their team.

And with spring well and truly in progress, and summer right around the corner (we hope), there’s never been a better time to give your career a refresh. What’s more, a generous employee discount could mean your home might benefit too. #hellonewplants.

This month, they’re primarily hiring for retail workers (at both team member and management level), but you can also find vacancies in marketing, HR, and customer service.

So if you’re passionate about home improvement, you know the difference between a Philips and a Hex screwdriver, and you can DIY without breaking anything, a career at Homebase could be for you.

Selfridges

Selfridges: good for high-end looks…and/or jobs.

As one of the world’s most iconic names, Selfridges is renowned for its great customer service, luxury products, and innovative design. In fact, their unique approach to retailing has led them to be voted the ‘Best Department Store in the World’ on four separate occasions.

But it’s not just a wide selection of clothes, bags, shoes, tech (etc. etc.) that Selfridges are offering this month. They’re also offering jobs. Lots of them. In everything from merchandising and beauty, to marketing and finance.

So whether you want to become a Styling Manager, a Visual Merchandiser, an Art Director, or something else equally impressive, you can find it at Selfridges.

Generous discounts, holiday allowances, childcare vouchers, and discounted gym memberships are just a few of the added bonuses you’ll get as an employee.

And thanks to one role that’s dedicated specifically to ‘toy merchandising’, you could even make a display that looks like something straight out of Big.

90s dream job: complete.
