Considering taking an apprenticeship?

There are many great reasons to start an apprenticeship – from getting excellent on-the-job training, through to gaining a professional qualification and enhancing your career prospects. Atomic Energy Authority

Industry: Sustainable energy 

About the company: The UK Atomic Energy Agency (UKAEA) researches fusion energy and related technologies, with the aim of positioning the UK as a leader in sustainable nuclear energy.

What apprenticeships are on offer?: UKAEA is currently looking for Engineering and Technical Apprentices, as well as apprentices for Professional Support (such as project management, HR and finance).  

Who is eligible to apply?: Again, GCSEs in Maths and English are essential, as well as three other GCSEs of at least a grade C. However, an alternative vocational Level 3 qualification may also be accepted.

About the company: Greencore is of the UKs leading food manufacturers, supplying retailers with everything from sandwiches, salads, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, condiments, and ready meals.

What apprenticeships are on offer?: Commercial, Technical and Operations apprentices are all in demand – to start in Summer 2021. 

Who is eligible to apply?: You’ve guessed it – almost anyone with a GCSE in Maths and English (and eligibility to work in the UK) will be considered.

What apprenticeships are on offer?: Business Administrator apprentices are needed right now, based in Hemel Hempstead.  

Who is eligible to apply?: A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Industry: Mobile & Communications  

About the company: Vodafone is one of the world’s biggest communications technology companies. Founded in 1982, it now provides mobile and technology services to 19 million subscribers.

What apprenticeships are on offer?: Software Engineer, Network Engineer and Data Analyst. All based in Newbury. 

Who is eligible to apply?: Anyone who is 18 years old or over as of 1st September 2021. You’ll also need at least two A levels, or the equivalent qualifications.
