It’s official: Christmas is nearly here…
For many, Christmas is a time for celebration, over-indulgence, and questionable jumpers. But for some of the most vulnerable people across the UK and beyond, it can be the toughest time of year – and the time they need our support the most.
That’s why we’re proud to once again support the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign: Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2025. It’s a simple idea with a huge impact: for one week only, you can have your donation to your favourite causes doubled.
What is the Christmas Challenge?
The Christmas Challenge is an annual fundraising campaign run by Big Give. For seven days, it offers you the chance to have your donation doubled, making twice the impact for charities that need it.
How does it work? Simple. You donate to a participating charity through the Big Give website. Big Give’s ‘Champions’ – a group of philanthropists, foundations, and companies – then match your donation. So, your £20 donation magically becomes £40 for a good cause.
Last year, the campaign raised an incredible £44 million for over 1,200 charities. This year, the aim is to go even further. With hundreds of charities taking part, you’re sure to find a cause that’s close to your heart.
When is the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025?
The campaign always kicks off on #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving.
This year, the dates for your diary are midday 2nd December to midday 9th December.
That’s one week to make double the difference.
What is Big Give?
Our founder, Sir Alec Reed, created Big Give back in 2007.
He wanted to build a platform that brings together charities, philanthropists, and the public to multiply generosity and create lasting change.
The core principle is ‘one donation, twice the impact’. And with the Christmas Challenge, this idea comes to life in a big way, helping thousands of charities make an even bigger difference.
How can I get involved?
Getting involved is easy. During the campaign week, all you need to do is:
- Visit BigGive.org between midday 2nd – 9th December.
- Choose a charity from the hundreds taking part. Whatever your passion, you’ll find a cause to support.
- Make your donation. Every donation, no matter the size, will be doubled.
That’s it. You’ll have made twice the impact, helping to deliver food, shelter, joy, and hope to those who need it most.
