The business is ISO9001 certified and holds the 'Investors in People' accolade.This is a unique opportunity to join an established and highly regarded engineering business.About the Role:The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations, optimal resource utilisation, and on-time delivery. The role supports the coordination between engineering, procurement, and shop floor teams to maintain smooth production flow and meet customer demand.Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules in line with customer orders and capacityPlan and coordinate manufacturing activities across the shop floor to ensure workflow efficiencyMonitor daily production performance against plan and address deviations promptlyLiaise with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure material and technical readinessAnalyse production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunitiesEnsure effective allocation of labour, machinery, and materialsMaintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systemsSupport inventory control by aligning production plans with stock levels and demand forecastsAssist in continuous improvement activities to optimise production processes and reduce wasteHealth & Safety:It is your responsibility to work in a safe manner to promote personal safety and the safety of others to prevent accidents occurring and report all near misses.Move materials safely and carefully using the correct mechanical lifting method.Use the appropriate PPE and ensure it is in good condition, replace when required.Follow the company's Health & Safety Policy at all times.This list is not exhaustive, and the job holder will be expected to perform other reasonable tasks in the interest of their role and the Company's performance.About you:Knowledge and Skills:Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fieldProven experience in a planning or production control role within manufacturingExperience working in a shop floor environmentKnowledge of production planning systems (MRP/ERP)Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques desirableStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflowsExcellent planning, organisational, and prioritisation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAttention to detail and accuracy in schedulingEffective communication with cross-functional teams and shop floor personnelAbility to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environmentProficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft ExcelPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; Engineering Planning Officer, Technical Planning Assistant, Manufacturing Planner, Production Planner.
