The Opportunity I am working with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Project Engineer to join a large, multi-year environmental infrastructure upgrade designed to enhance regional water quality and long-term ecological resilience. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering coordination of a major linear infrastructure scheme spanning more than 20km.This role is ideal for an engineer with strong site experience who is ready to take responsibility for technical oversight, contractor support and ensuring the smooth delivery of construction activities across multiple locations. Role Overview As Project Engineer, you will support the Project Manager in all aspects of planning, engineering coordination and site-based delivery. You will act as a technical liaison between designers, contractors, landowners and environmental bodies, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with programme expectations. Key Responsibilities Provide daily engineering support across multiple sites along a linear pipeline route.Assist in planning, scheduling and monitoring construction activities.Review technical drawings, method statements and specifications to ensure compliance.Conduct site inspections, quality checks and progress reporting.Support risk assessments, CDM compliance, permits and safety planning.Coordinate technical queries between design teams, contractors and the Project Manager.Support stakeholder engagement, including landowners and operational partners.Assist with identifying issues, proposing engineering solutions and implementing corrective actions. The scheme comprises a 20km+ linear pipeline and associated civil engineering works, delivered across multiple work fronts with sensitive ecological constraints and diverse stakeholders.Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Engineer, you will take day-to-day responsibility for setting out, quality assurance and technical coordination on site-ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to specification. Role Overview You'll provide precise setting out for civil and pipeline activities, manage QA records and as-built information, and act as a key interface between the delivery team, subcontractors and design partners. Key Responsibilities Carry out setting out for earthworks, drainage, structures, chambers, services and pipeline works.Verify dimensions and tolerances; maintain as-built surveys and red-line drawings.Prepare and manage ITPs, test records, inspection sheets and quality documentation.Review drawings, specifications and method statements/RAMS; raise TQs/RFIs where required.Support daily briefings, permits to dig/work and temporary works coordination.Monitor workmanship, materials and productivity; report progress and risks to the Site Manager.Contribute to short-term planning, look-aheads and sequencing across multiple work areas.
