Site Operations Leader - Warehouse and Logistics
Mon–Fri | Bonus | No Weekends! |We’re seeking a Site Operations Leader to oversee warehouse and logistics activity across our regional hub. This senior, hands-on role combines operational leadership with strategic planning: you’ll be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, customer-focused delivery of goods while developing and coaching teams to meet performance and service targets.What you'll get:Competitive salary plus performance-related bonusMon–Fri working patterns available with rota stability and minimal weekend cover only where operationally necessaryPension scheme provided by Legal & GeneralLife Assurance and access to Medicash for health and wellbeing supportEmployee discounts on products and servicesComprehensive training, leadership development and clear career progression pathwaysThe role:Lead site-wide warehouse and transport operations, ensuring targets for productivity, OTIF, quality and cost are achievedManage and develop supervisors, warehouse operatives, drivers and temporary staff to create a high-performing and safety-conscious teamPlan resource and capacity across shifts, balancing workload, vehicle utilisation and customer delivery commitmentsOversee despatch, returns and distribution activities, working closely with planners to optimise routes and schedulesMonitor and report on key operational KPIs (throughput, OTIF, shrinkage, vehicle utilisation), producing concise management reports and action plansEnsure compliance with health & safety legislation, transport regulations and company procedures, including driver licence and tachograph checks, vehicle defect reporting and safe systems of workDrive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and transport processes to increase efficiency, reduce cost and enhance customer experienceManage recruitment, induction and training; conduct performance conversations, coaching and development activity to retain and grow talentResolve operational issues and customer escalations promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrenceMaintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS) and handheld devices to control stock and movementsWho we’re looking for:Proven experience leading warehouse and transport operations at site or regional level, with staff management responsibilityStrong operational planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to perform under pressureSound knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours rules and vehicle safety requirementsConfident user of IT systems including Microsoft Office; experience of WMS/TMS and handheld devices desirableExcellent communication and people management skills with a collaborative, coaching approachAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement and cost controlPractical, hands-on approach and willingness to support operational activity when requiredFlexible and resilient, prepared to support business continuity and occasional out-of-hours incidentsWorking hours, location and flexibility:Full-time role working set shifts; pattern to be agreed to meet operational needs (days/early/late)Based at our regional warehouse and transport hub with occasional travel between sitesSome out-of-hours contact may be required for critical incidents and business continuityBenefits of joining our team:Competitive salary and bonus opportunitiesMedicash cashback scheme for health and wellbeing supportUnum Income Protection and Group Life AssurancePension scheme and employee discountsLearning and development programmes and clear internal progression pathwaysRecognition and reward schemes including long service awardsIf you’re an organised, experienced leader who is passionate about delivering operational excellence and developing people, we’d like to hear from you.
