SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: SheffieldStart Date: September 2026Contract: Full-Time, Term Time OnlySalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism provision in Sheffield from September.The school supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom have additional communication needs, sensory processing difficulties, anxiety, and associated learning needs. The school provides a highly structured, nurturing environment designed to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support, helping pupils engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism.Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes.Implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families.Contribute to a positive, structured and supportive learning environment.About YouExperience supporting children or young people with SEND.Ideally experience within an ASD specialist school or provision.Knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.Calm, patient and resilient approach.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Passionate about supporting young people to succeed.What We OfferA supportive and experienced staff team.Ongoing SEND and autism-specific training.Excellent opportunities for professional development.A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference.Apply today to be considered for a September start.
