Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (EPLAN / AutoCAD)Location: Hailsham, East Sussex Employment Type: Permanent - Full time Salary; £40/45kRole Overview We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with experience in EPLAN or AutoCAD to support the design and development of electrical systems for low-volume manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full design lifecycle, from concept through to production, and capable of producing accurate, high-quality schematics and layouts tailored to bespoke or small-batch projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using EPLAN or AutoCADCreate and maintain detailed documentation for low-volume manufacturing projectsCollaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and project stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical and commercial requirementsSelect appropriate electrical components and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulationsSupport prototyping, testing, and validation of electrical systemsModify and improve existing designs based on feedback from production or field performanceAssist with troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during manufacturingMaintain organized design files, revision control, and documentation standardsRequired Skills & ExperienceProven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or similar roleProficiency in EPLAN and/or AutoCAD ElectricalStrong understanding of electrical design principles, control systems, and panel designExperience producing schematics and layouts for manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with low-volume or bespoke manufacturing processesKnowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, BS, or equivalent)Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawingsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsDesirable SkillsExperience with PLC systems and control panel designKnowledge of wiring harness design and documentationUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and assembly practicesExperience working in multidisciplinary engineering teamsPersonal AttributesSelf-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and collaboration skillsPractical, hands-on mindset with a focus on delivering workable solutionsAdaptable and comfortable working in a low-volume, high-variation environmentWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projectsCollaborative and supportive team environmentOverseas travel TPA Recruit is a specialist recruitment agency acting on behalf of our client to source and assess suitable candidates for this position.
