Special Needs Teacher
The Teach Team is recruiting qualified secondary school teachers for short term and long term work in special schools in Birmingham. We are seeking passionate and dedicated teachers who have qualifications or relevant experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). If you have proven experience, gained in either a mainstream or special school, of working with the following additional needs, would love to hear from you:AutismSpeech, language and communication needs (SLCN)Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)Severe learning difficulties (SLD)Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)Your responsibilities may include:Planning and delivering lessons tailored to meeting EHCP outcomesCreating a nurturing classroom environment that allows pupils to thrive and achieve, academically, socially and emotionally Monitoring progress and contributing to reports and review meetingsUsing communication tools such as PECs, Makaton and other communication aidsCollaborating with support staff, families, therapists and other professionalsRequirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Proven experience working with children and young people with SENDA genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs A calm and positive manner Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and writtenAn Enhanced DBS (we can support with this)The Teach Team will offer you:Competitive rates of payAccess to free training and professional development coursesOpportunities to work across different settings and age groupsSupport from experienced consultants and school leadersThe Teach Team is committed to Safer Recruitment practices and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
