DevOps Security Engineer
IntroductionA major UK organisation behind one of the country’s most recognisable digital platforms is undergoing a large-scale cloud transformation. As part of this journey, they’re strengthening their security engineering capability — and are looking for a DevOps Security Engineer to help embed security into every layer of their cloud and delivery environments.Role Overview:Location: Watford (Hybrid - 3 days in office a week)Package: Up to £95,000 p/a + benefitsIndustry: Gaming / Digital Platforms / TechnologyWhat You’ll Be Doing:Monitoring, triaging and resolving vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure, applications, containers and delivery pipelinesActing as a key technical link between engineering teams and cyber security functions to ensure rapid remediation of security threatsEmbedding security tools into CI/CD pipelines, including container and secret scanningStrengthening infrastructure security through Terraform-based infrastructure as codeAutomating security validation and policy enforcement using cloud-native tools and policy-as-code approachesSupporting threat modelling and secure design across engineering teamsManaging vulnerability remediation workflows and ensuring issues are resolved within defined risk and compliance timelinesImplementing and maintaining secure configurations across cloud services including IAM, key management, WAF, logging and monitoringCreating clear technical documentation, guidance and runbooks to support engineering teamsDriving secure development practices across product and platform teamsHelping define and enforce governance policies across cloud and DevOps environmentsMain Skills Needed:3–5+ years’ experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or DevSecOps rolesStrong development and automation skills with the ability to build security toolingProven experience working with Terraform for infrastructure as codeHands-on cloud experience across AWS and Azure environmentsStrong understanding of cloud security principles including IAM, networking and container securityExperience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)Practical exposure to vulnerability management and threat remediation processesExperience collaborating with SOC, cyber defence or enterprise security teamsUnderstanding of modern application architectures and cloud-native systemsAbility to adapt quickly in fast-moving cloud environmentsWhat’s in It for You:Company bonus schemePension contributions matched up to 8.5%26 days annual leave plus additional wellbeing daysPrivate medical coverLife assuranceEnhanced parental leave policies£500 annual wellness allowanceAccess to nutritionists, personal trainers and discounted health assessmentsFinancial coaching and wellbeing supportThe chance to contribute to a large-scale digital and cloud transformation programmeA collaborative engineering culture where security is embedded from the startCurious?
