Randstad are recruiting for a number of Freelance section engineer roles to work on a prestigious High speed rail project based in Buckinghamshire This role is PAYE, inside IR35. The successful candidate will be working for Tier 1 main Contractors in Joint venture for a number of years. The role includes the build of a Viaduct, cut and cover tunnel, earthworks, piling and a number of structures. Section Engineer - Earthworks (Rail)Location: HertfordshireEmployer: Tier 1 Main Contractor Randstad is recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer with strong Earthworks expertise to support a major rail upgrade project in Hertfordshire. You will be joining a Tier 1 main contractor, working on a combination of civils and building works within a live rail environment. The earthworks package will be your primary responsibility, requiring strong technical oversight and proven delivery experience. Key Responsibilities: Managing engineering activities, subcontractors, and/or self-delivery teams Planning, forecasting, and delivering works to programme Liaising effectively with clients, designers, and other key stakeholders Developing and maintaining programmes, risk assessments, and quality assurance documentation Overseeing design coordination, NCRs, RFIs, and health & safety compliance Essential Experience: Significant hands-on experience delivering Earthworks packages on major civils or rail projects Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage works independently Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality. *This role is based in the Caribbean. Our client is a well-established Main Contractor in the Caribbean, and we are supporting them in their search for a Senior Site Engineer/Section Manager to join their delivery team. They cover a broad range of projects on Island from new build (RC/Steel Frame) to Refurb and Civil/Infrastructure.
