Instead, you'll become the technical hub between the sales team, customers, CAD resources and fabrication partners, helping turn engineering enquiries into practical, deliverable solutions.You'll take project information from the sales team and be responsible for developing drawings, reviewing designs, coordinating external CAD support where required, and ensuring technical specifications are translated into accurate manufacturing and installation solutions.This role would suit someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working with drawings and coordinating projects behind the scenes rather than being involved in new business sales.The RoleReporting into the Sales Director, you'll play a key role in supporting engineering enquiries and ensuring projects move smoothly from concept through to manufacture and delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce and amend technical drawings using CAD softwareInterpret customer requirements, sketches and specificationsSupport the sales team with technical input on engineering enquiriesWork closely with external CAD providers and fabrication suppliersReview drawings and ensure designs are practical and manufacturableCoordinate the design and drawing approval processLiaise with suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to specificationAssist with project tracking and technical documentationIdentify any design issues and propose practical solutionsSupport occasional site visits when technical input is requiredAct as the internal technical point of contact for engineering-related enquiriesWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience within Building Services, MEP, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical disciplineExperience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit or similar design softwareAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsUnderstanding of fabrication, pipework, bracketry, support systems or mechanical installations would be highly beneficialGood organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyComfortable communicating with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholdersA practical problem solver who enjoys technical challengesIdeal BackgroundsWe would be particularly interested in candidates from backgrounds such as:Building Services Design EngineerMechanical Design EngineerCAD TechnicianRevit TechnicianMEP CoordinatorMechanical Project EngineerTechnical EngineerDesign DraughtspersonWhy Apply?Genuine technical role with minimal sales responsibilityOpportunity to work on a variety of bespoke engineering projectsMix of CAD design, technical coordination and project supportStable office-based position with long-term growth potentialChance to become a key part of a growing engineering functionWork closely with experienced sales and operational teams to bring projects from concept through to deliveryThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically-minded individual who enjoys working with drawings, solving engineering problems and coordinating projects behind the scenes, without the pressure of front-line sales targets.IND25
