Project Risk Manager - Energy SectorLocation: Remote / Hybrid with occasionally visits to BirminghamContract Type: Contract (6 months+)About the RoleAs the energy sector undergoes rapid transformation - from large-scale renewables to complex infrastructure upgrades - effective risk management has never been more critical. We're looking for a Project Risk Specialist who can embed themselves within high-profile energy projects and drive robust, forward-looking risk practices that support safe, efficient, and resilient delivery.This is an opportunity to influence major programmes that contribute directly to the UK's energy security, decarbonisation goals, and long-term sustainability.Key Responsibilities* Actively integrate within multidisciplinary project teams, attending project meetings and building strong, trusted relationships with Project Directors and Senior Project Managers across generation, transmission, distribution, or renewable energy portfolios.* Lead and facilitate risk workshops, providing constructive challenge and assurance to ensure risks are fully understood, well-articulated, and effectively managed.* Coordinate pre-work and follow-ups with stakeholders to ensure workshops are productive and aligned with project milestones.* Develop and present monthly project risk dashboards, offering clear insights into risk exposure, trends, and potential impacts on cost, schedule, safety, and regulatory compliance.* Support Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs), applying a solid understanding of probabilistic techniques to help inform investment decisions, contingency setting, and scenario planning.* Maintain the Active Risk Manager (ARM) system, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality data feeds into monthly reporting cycles and governance forums.* Engage with the wider risk community, sharing best practice, contributing to continuous improvement, and supporting colleagues across the energy portfolio.About YouYou bring a strong grounding in project risk management, ideally gained within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
