Revenue Accountant
Our client, a high-growth and well-established technology business, is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Revenue Accountant to join its Finance team.This is a high-profile role within the finance function, responsible for ensuring revenue is accurately recorded, reliably forecast and supported by robust financial controls as the business continues to scale.Working closely with the Finance Director and key operational stakeholders, you will play a central role in strengthening revenue reporting, identifying potential revenue leakage and improving the systems and processes underpinning revenue recognition and forecasting.The RoleReporting directly to the Finance Director, you will support the accurate recording, reconciliation and forecasting of revenue across the Group.You will collaborate closely with Sales, Billing, Order Management and Project Management teams to ensure commercial activity is reflected accurately within financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue AccountingPrepare and post month-end revenue journals within NetSuiteMaintain accrued and deferred revenue schedulesReconcile revenue-related P&L and balance sheet accountsProduce clear audit-ready working papersInvestigate and explain variances between actual and forecast revenueRevenue ForecastingMaintain and develop revenue forecasting modelsUpdate forecasts at contract level using operational inputsEnsure assumptions are clearly documentedReconcile forecasts to NetSuite and billing dataIdentify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiencyCommercial & Operational CoordinationAct as a key liaison between Finance and operational teamsInterpret contract terms and delivery milestonesTranslate operational updates into financial impactSupport billing processes and identify revenue leakageCoordinate with Legal and Billing on contractual mattersInsight & Continuous ImprovementProvide revenue analysis to support budgetingRespond to audit queries and escalate where requiredImprove revenue controls, reporting clarity and process efficiencyAbout YouPart-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), AAT qualified or equivalent2:1 OR above Degree3–5 years’ experience in revenue accounting, forecasting or management accountsStrong Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, validation)Experience with financial modelling and data analysisStrong reconciliation and analytical skillsHighly organised with a methodical approachConfident communicator, able to work across multiple teamsDesirable:Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systemsExposure to revenue recognition (accruals, deferrals)Experience within a SaaS or technology environment
