You’ll work closely with residents, colleagues and external partners to deliver person-centred support that promotes recovery and wellbeing.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting residents to develop personalised recovery and support plansHelping people build daily living skills, including managing finances, cooking and maintaining their tenancySupporting access to employment, education, leisure and community opportunitiesWorking collaboratively with GPs, mental health teams, local authorities and partner organisationsContributing to a safe, well-run service, including health and safety checks and monitoring the environmentSupporting medication processes and participating in additional responsibilities with training providedMaintaining accurate case notes and records on our IT systemsWorking as part of a rota, including outreach appointments and multi-agency meetingsYou’ll work on a rota basis, with shifts planned well in advance to support work–life balance. We are seeking compassionate people with emotional intelligence and person-centred values for the interesting and rewarding role of Recovery Support Worker, supporting people with mental health and other needs in a high quality, new-build supported living service in Redditch. The service will provide person-centred, recovery-focussed support to promote independence, tenancy sustainment and positive risk management. You will ensure that service users are enabled to make progress in their personal recovery journey and to attain goals relating to their mental health & wellbeing, independence and quality of life.  You will support individuals to move into their new homes and to become as independent as possible in managing their tenancies and all areas of daily living. You will provide psychological and practical support to enable people to grow in self-esteem and confidence. You will empower people to make informed choices and to enjoy a fulfilling life by developing supportive relationships with others, make community connections and access meaningful activities. You will work closely and effectively with all members of the individual’s support network, including their families, social workers, NHS professionals and voluntary agencies. You must be able to build warm and trusting relationships with individuals, based on respect and unconditional positive regard. You will need to have good verbal and written communication skills and be confident in liaising with external agencies. You must be able to work in a work in a reliable and accountable manner and have the ability to carry out the role of Key Worker, contributing to needs/risk assessment and the development of person-centred support plans. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of mental health needs and the challenges experienced by people who may have experienced trauma and adverse life events. You will be committed to equality and able to practice in an inclusive and non-judgmental manner. Relevant paid or unpaid experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be offered. A relevant qualification (such as a Health & Social Care Diploma or degree in psychology) would also be desirable. Your work base will be the supported living service which is located close to Redditch town centre and comprises of 14 well designed, self-contained one bed apartments, with a communal lounge and on-site staff office. This role will require you to work shifts on a 7 day rota, which will include evenings, weekends. And bank holidays. You may be required to undertake additional sleep-in duties on the premises for which a generous additional payment is made. Part-time hours will be considered subject to a minimum of 15 hours per week.
