Highly Specialist Psychologist/Psychological Therapist Opportunity Role: Highly Specialist Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Health)/Psychological Therapist Location:Birstall, West Yorkshire, with travel required between Liversedge and Bury. . Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri). Salary: £47,307 - £62,029.50 (Dependent on skills, experience, and banding). Banding: Band 7-8a. Preceptorship applicants considered. About the Role Are you a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist or an experienced Psychological Therapist looking for a challenging and rewarding role supporting young people with complex mental health difficulties in specialist residential placements? This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, innovative, and multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing intensive, integrative care. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Caseload: Provide psychological assessment and treatment to young people with severe and enduring mental health disorders, emerging personality disorder, and complex trauma. Hold a small clinical caseload, allowing for in-depth, innovative, and flexible interventions. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a valued multidisciplinary team (including Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultant Psychiatrists, and Residential Staff) to offer direct clinical input and systemic interventions. Risk Management & Formulation: Apply psychological theory and knowledge to support the assessment, formulation, and management of risk within a unique service model focused on developing young people's resilience and independent risk management skills. Systemic Integration: Ensure psychological knowledge is integrated across all residential homes through consultation, training, and supervision of staff teams. Leadership & Development: Develop excellent leadership and communication skills within a complex multiagency system. Innovation & Audit: Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and contribute to service development by utilising research skills for audit, developing and delivering teaching, and shaping policy.
