The family team includes practitioners who have achieved the Law Society’s Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations providing advocacy in all court proceedings, ensuring their clients receive a consistent and professional service as well as a high degree of continuity.In addition, our client’s Family department is experienced in assisting high net worth individuals in divorce matters with specialist divorce solicitors with expertise in domestic abuse, adoption, child abduction, prohibitive steps orders, specific issues orders, injunctions, spousal and child maintenance, properties, pensions and freezing injunctions.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesReport directly to Department DirectorProfessional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needsAssisting with casework including dealing with a range of Children / Child Care matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) as well as undertaking your own advocacyAttending clients, taking instructions and preparing casesDealing with correspondencePreparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid AgencyPreparing draft documents including witness statements and processing evidenceAttending conferences and courtMaintaining accurate time costing proceduresImplementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptlyEnsuring compliance with file managementKey Skills Required Demonstrate passion and legal experience in a broad range of Children LawA strong academic background with a Law degreeClear understanding and application of Children LawBusiness acumen and the ability to market the CompanyExcellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of peopleExcellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance.Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skillsThis list is not exhaustive and there may be other duties as reasonably required.On offer is an attractive salary package, a supportive team environment and real prospects for promotion.
