A leading commercial law firm with a well-regarded Intellectual Property practice is seeking to strengthen its London team. The firm advises a sophisticated client base on complex IP issues across technically demanding industries, taking a practical and commercially focused approach that supports clients' wider strategic objectives. The Role This opportunity is for a mid-level Associate with three to five years' post-qualification experience to join an established IP team specialising in contentious patent matters. The role has a strong emphasis on technology and communications-related patent litigation, with exposure to technically complex disputes and advisory work. You will apply your legal and technical expertise to help clients achieve commercially effective outcomes while working closely with experienced IP partners. Key Responsibilities Advising on a broad range of contentious intellectual property matters, with a focus on patent litigationActing on technology and communications patent disputes across technically complex industriesAdvising on related patent law issues including patent licensing disputes, Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and FRAND mattersProviding strategic, practical and commercially focused advice aligned with clients' business objectivesApplying technical background and litigation experience to deliver a first-class service to clientsAdvising on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters as requiredSupporting partners in the development and growth of the IP practiceCollaborating with colleagues across disciplines and jurisdictions on complex matters Requirements Qualified lawyer with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in Intellectual PropertyProven experience in patent litigation, ideally within a recognised IP or commercial practiceStrong academic background, ideally with a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific disciplineIdeally completed the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and PracticeSolid understanding of the structure and operation of a commercial law firmAbility to work flexibly across a range of patent litigation issues and jurisdictionsStrong commercial awareness and a desire to support practice development and firm strategyCommitment to maintaining and developing technical expertise through continuous learning Apply today or contact Antony Setford for more information. #INDCATS
