Process Operator
Role Purpose We are seeking several Process Operators to join our rapidly expanding processing plant, manufacturing alcohol, starch, gluten, and glucose syrups. Our production facility is highly automated, using Scada systems, operating 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. You will be responsible for the effective running and monitoring of one of our designated manufacturing/processing plants, to ensure the continuous flow of the production process. Responsibilities include - Operating processing/manufacturing plant, safely and efficiently according to procedure to ensure continuity of the processThe monitoring and control of all plant and utility operations, making any necessary adjustments to ensure seem product flowRetrieving samples and conducting tests to ensure product meets specification requirementsTaking remedial action when product fails to meet specifications requirements and reanalyseEnsure compliance with all food safety regulations and applicable programs (e.g., HACCP) and ensuring all paperwork/documentation is accurately recordedEnsuring at all chemicals required in the manufacturing process are topped up and restocked as requiredEnsuring good hygiene practices are adhered to by carrying out both routine and non-routine cleaning tasksAssist the maintenance department with preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance activities Skills & Knowledge Previous experience gained within a food/drink manufacturing environment is preferredStrong work ethic with a hands-on approach and ability to prioritise tasksAble to work alone, unsupervised, for long periodsBe a flexible team memberAbility to work at height and in confined spaces as requiredExcellent communication skillsBasic computer literacyCapable of lifting heavy goods of up to 25kg of manual handing equipmentBe able to work 12 hour shifts on days/nights rotation (Pitsman Shift) - 6am - 6pm/6pm/6am Salary & Benefits Competitive salary - £37,736k following successful probation with potential to increase based on technical skills and performanceDeath in Service benefit - 4 x salaryHealthcare scheme available after successful probationAppropriate PPE and workwear are providedCompany pension - employee 5%, employer 6%Lavazza coffee machines free for staff usePasta clubFree secure car parkingUpgraded on-site shower and changing facilitiesUpgraded canteen facilitiesUniform laundry service provided
