Alongside compliance, you will work directly with senior leadership on developing the tax offering, improving processes, and supporting the firm’s growth. The role offers a broad scope, with involvement in both client work and internal development, making it well suited to someone looking to step into a more influential position.Key responsibilities:Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients and ensure all deadlines are metOversee the preparation and review of personal tax returnsAct as a main point of contact for clients, building strong relationshipsIdentify and support tax planning opportunitiesLiaise with HMRC on behalf of clientsSupport the development and growth of the tax functionWork closely with senior leadership on departmental initiativesAssist with mentoring and supporting junior team membersContribute to improving processes and client deliveryThe successful tax Manager will have:ATT or CTA qualified, or equivalentStrong experience in personal tax within practiceExposure to advisory work, or a desire to develop in this areaExperience managing client relationshipsOrganised approach with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesConfident communication skillsCommercial awareness and interest in business growthAbility to work closely with senior stakeholdersExperience in corporate tax is beneficial but not essentialFull right to work in the UKHowett Thorpe are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role and comply with all relevant UK legislation and do not discriminate on any protected characteristics.
