Working within a small finance team - reporting to the Senior Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role is critical in ensuring our valued employees are paid correctly and on time, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant legislation.RequirementsProcess end-to-end payroll for approximately 500 employees on fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.Maintain accurate employee records, including new starters, leavers, changes to pay rates, and leave balances.Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation, agreements, and company policies.Manage payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.Accurately process leave entitlements, allowances, bonuses, and deductions.Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy between systems.Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a Payroll Administrator or similar role. Swindon based 1-2 days per week. Work in partnership with managers and the customer teams, to ensure all the personal and payroll data is available for inputting or uploading into the HRS system, for the monthly payroll. Manage these actions, so the end to end process of data input, verification, filing and reporting, are all made within the appropriate deadlines. Manage the accurate processing of monthly timesheets and overtime claims. Ensure legal and organisational requirements in respect of IR35 and employment status are met. Manage the pay review process. Manage month-end and year-end duties relating to payroll close. Review and implement improvements to workflows, templates and communication tools to improve payroll related services. Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy firm, are seeking a full or part time senior Payroller to join their growing business in Oxfordshire.Reporting into the Partners, the key responsibilities include:Payroll Processing & Review:Prepare, process, and review payrolls for all assigned clients, ensuring accuracy of pay, deductions, statutory payments, and RTI submissions.Oversee and quality-check payrolls completed by team members.Pension Administration:Manage workplace pension schemes, including enrolments, re-enrolment, contributions, and provider submissions.Monitor and maintain compliance with pension legislation and deadlines by assisting our designated auto enrolment team with the data required for declarations of compliance.Client Account Reconciliation:Reconcile client payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.Ensure correct payment of PAYE, NIC, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions.Client Support & Query Resolution:Act as a main point of contact for client payroll queries, providing prompt and accurate guidance.Build strong client relationships and ensure high service standards.Compliance & Deadlines Management:Track payroll and pension deadlines to ensure timely submissions and avoid penalties.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice by attending webinars and ongoing CPD.Team LeadershipSupervise two payroll assistants, assisting with training, guidance, and workload oversight. In return our client offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience), and can offer flexible hybrid working arrangements – 2 days a week in the office, and enhanced benefits.
