This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment within a high-security hospital setting. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and trust standards. Day-to-day of the role: Install, repair, and maintain the hospital's building fabric, fixtures, and fittings using specific trade skills in painting, decorating, and other cross-trade works such as carpentry and basic plumbing.Perform reactive and planned maintenance, adapting core building trade skills with appropriate training for other building and civil engineering repairs.Escort contractors within the secure perimeter, participate in the on-call system, and undertake security-related tasks such as lock auditing and hot works like welding and cutting.Plan and execute new work requests and maintenance tasks efficiently, minimizing disruption to staff and patients while adhering to performance targets.Use test instruments and trade skills to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain records of faults and repairs.Travel between sites as required and participate in surveys and audits.
