Health & Safety Officer/TrainerContract TypeFull-time, PermanentSalary£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience (DOE)Reporting ToQHSE ManagerJob PurposeThe Quality Health & Safety Trainer/Officer is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining effective training programmes to ensure employees comply with GDP, regulatory, quality, and company standards within a pharmaceutical and medical product storage and distribution environment. The role supports operations handling frozen, cold-chain, and ambient products, ensuring staff competence, audit readiness, and a strong culture of quality and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & CompetencyDevelop, deliver, and continuously improve quality and compliance training programmes for all operational and support staffDeliver induction and refresher training covering GDP, QMS, temperature-controlled storage (frozen, cold, ambient), SOPs, data integrity, hygiene, and health & safetyMaintain training matrices, competency assessments, and re-certification schedulesAdapt training approaches for warehouse, QA, management, and contractor rolesQuality & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure all training aligns with MHRA GDP Guidelines and applicable EU GDP requirementsSupport readiness for internal, customer, and regulatory auditsTrain staff on handling of temperature excursions, deviations, CAPAs, and change controlDocumentation & SystemsMaintain accurate training records within electronic or paper-based QMS systemsEnsure SOPs and training materials remain current and compliant with site processesCulture & Continuous ImprovementPromote a strong quality and compliance culture across the siteIdentify training gaps and recommend continuous improvement initiativesMonitor training effectiveness and performance KPIsKnowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssentialExperience in a quality, compliance, or training role within a regulated environmentStrong understanding of SOP-driven quality systems and regulatory expectationsProven ability to deliver effective training to operational teamsExcellent attention to detail and documentation skillsStrong communication skills at all organisational levelsBeneficial / DesirableTemperature-controlled (cold-chain or frozen) logistics experiencePharmaceutical or medical distribution experienceExposure to GDP audits (MHRA or customer)Experience with warehouse operations or logistics environmentsKnowledge of electronic QMS or LMS platformsFormal training qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer, TAQA, CIPD L&D)Working ConditionsThis is a site-based role combining office and temperature-controlled warehouse environments. The position may require occasional work in chilled or frozen areas; appropriate PPE will be provided. The role is full-time with flexibility required to support operational requirements.
