Job Title: CAD & 3D Modelling Designer – Golf Course ConstructionLocation: WarringtonSalary: Up to £40,000 per annumRole: Permanent, Full-timeOverviewWe are recruiting a CAD & 3D Modelling Designer to support the delivery of specialist golf course construction and landshaping projects across the UK.This is a contractor-side technical role focused on producing buildable earthworks designs and survey-ready 3D terrain models – not just traditional 2D drawings. You’ll be directly involved in turning high-level design concepts into practical, construction-ready information used on live projects.Working closely with golf course architects, engineers, surveyors and site teams, you will help create: Accurate 3D earthworks modelsSurvey-grade setting-out data for machine controlPlanning and presentation drawingsFully coordinated construction information that works in real-world conditions This is a rare opportunity to see your technical work come to life on high-profile golf course developments across the country.The RoleAs a CAD & 3D Modelling Designer, you will play a key role in translating design intent into deliverable construction information.Earthworks Design & 3D Modelling Produce detailed 3D earthworks models for golf course projectsModel greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and shaping areasGenerate accurate cut and fill volumes and surface comparisonsCreate survey-ready 3D models and GPS machine control dataUpdate models to reflect site conditions and approved design changes CAD Drawings & Visual Outputs Produce high-quality 2D drawings using AutoCAD for planning, tender and construction packsCreate layout plans, sections, profiles and level drawingsMaintain drawing registers and revision control in line with QA procedures Coordination & Construction Support Work closely with architects to convert design concepts into buildable modelsLiaise with surveyors, site managers, engineers and machine operatorsSupport technical queries, RFIs and on-site problem-solvingProduce as-built models and updated construction information Health, Safety & Compliance Support Principal Contractor duties under CDM 2015Ensure designs consider safe construction sequencing and accessFollow company QA, environmental and H&S requirements About YouEssential Skills & Experience Proven experience producing earthworks designs and 3D models for construction projectsStrong working knowledge of LSS, Civil 3D, or similar civil modelling softwareUnderstanding of earthworks, levels, tolerances and construction methodologyAbility to generate accurate volumes and survey-grade 3D outputsPractical, construction-minded approach with strong problem-solving skills Important:Experience using AutoCAD alone is not sufficient, this role requires hands-on civil/earthworks modelling expertise.Desirable Experience Previous involvement in golf course or landscape construction projectsExperience with GPS machine control workflowsProducing drawings and models for planning submissionsRegular collaboration with site teams and contractorsAwareness of UK environmental and construction constraints What’s On Offer Salary up to £40,000 per annumPermanent, full-time positionUnique opportunity within a specialist sectorDirect involvement in high-profile UK projectsCollaborative role working closely with site and design teams Commutable FromWarrington, Manchester, Liverpool, Wigan, St Helens, Widnes, Cheshire, Lancashire, North WalesIf you’re a CAD & 3D Modelling Designer with strong earthworks modelling skills and a passion for turning creative terrain designs into buildable reality, we’d love to hear from you.About McCarthy RecruitmentThis role is handled by McCarthy Recruitment, an award-winning multi-sector recruiter.
