Hire Manager
We are working with the UK’s leading pump solutions business seeking an experienced Hire Manager to take ownership of day to day hire operations within a busy branch environment in Wishaw.This role is central to the smooth running of the branch, coordinating equipment movements, managing hire requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring customers receive a first class service every time.It suits a confident Hire Manager who thrives in a fast paced environment and can balance logistics, commercial decisions and customer engagement with ease.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee logistics and transport scheduling, ensuring deliveries meet customer requirements and equipment is collected within agreed timeframesMaintain accurate contract documentation and system records, replacing in lieu contracts immediatelyReview all re hires and identify opportunities to replace equipment, liaising with the Branch Manager and Central WorkshopLead the Hire Team in completing day books and transport books, ensuring all follow ups are actionedNegotiate hire rates within company pricing structures and discount policiesMaintain accurate stock information so the branch can meet all hire demandsWork closely with operational teams across the area to coordinate resources and avoid duplicationRaise correct charges for damages and losses, liaising with customers and ensuring documentation is completed for financePass all sales leads to the Sales Team and complete outbound calls to dormant accountsProvide consistently positive customer service, building strong relationships and gathering feedbackContribute ideas for business development and support branch and area profitability reviewsEnsure all SHEQ procedures are followed and accurate monthly asset checks are completedSkills and Experience RequiredBackground in a Management or Supervisory role, within a hire desk or a similar environmentDemonstrable experience managing a busy hire desk with high volumes and tight deadlinesExperience within logistics, construction or water utilities is beneficialConfident user of hire systems and software packages, with strong MS Office skillsSelf motivated with the ability to work independently and manage shifting prioritiesStrong organisational ability, able to respond quickly to changing hire needsExcellent communication and customer handling skills, remaining calm under pressureStrong negotiation and influencing ability with confidence to upsell or advise customersUnderstanding of pump products and hire solutions is advantageousSummaryPosition: Hire ManagerLocation: WishawDuration: PermanentSalary: £40,000 to £46,000 including bonus and benefitsStart: Notice dependentThis is an excellent opportunity for a driven Hire Manager to take the lead within a high performing branch and play a key role in operational delivery and customer satisfaction.Apply now or contact the Kiota team for more details.
