Maintenance Operative Luton Full Time Permanent Role 8am - 5-pm Monday to Friday Salary depending on experience Maintenance OperativeLocation: Luton Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a hands-on, all-round maintenance role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly. You'll be involved in day-to-day reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of plant, equipment and facilities.This is a great opportunity for someone with broad practical skills who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across plant, machinery and site facilitiesRespond to breakdowns and fault-find to get equipment back up and running with minimal downtimeCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep equipment in good working orderAssist with the installation of new equipment when requiredSupport minor project and improvement work as directedKeep basic maintenance records and logs up to dateCarry out work in line with health and safety procedures at all timesLiaise with contractors and suppliers when specialist support is neededMaintain a clean, safe and tidy working environmentCover and support colleagues where needed and contribute positively to the teamAbout YouEssential:Some previous experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environmentPractical, hands-on approach with good all-round maintenance skillsAbility to fault-find and problem-solve on a variety of equipmentGood communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitudeComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamDesirable:Experience with planned preventative maintenanceFamiliarity with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical systemsBasic understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing settingWhat We're Looking ForYou don't need to be a fully qualified engineer - what matters most is that you're practical, willing to get stuck in, and have a solid foundation of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
