Landscape Architect
Broadland and South Norfolk District Councils are looking to appoint a Landscape Architect to join our well-established, multi-disciplinary Development Management Team, playing a key role in shaping major schemes, urban extensions and sensitive development across both urban and rural settings.About the RoleSouth Norfolk and Broadland Councils have an ambitious growth agenda and are at the forefront of delivering high-quality, sustainable development across Greater Norwich. With the Greater Norwich Local Plan now adopted, we are moving decisively into delivery - and landscape quality, place-making and environmental stewardship are central to that ambition.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced landscape professional who wants to influence outcomes, work on genuinely strategic sites, and help create attractive, resilient places for communities now and in the future.Working across two council areas surrounding the city of Norwich, the role offers exposure to a wide and varied portfolio, including:Large-scale residential developments and strategic urban extensionsMajor employment sites and enterprise areasNationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), including renewable energy and power distribution schemesLocal Development Orders and innovative placemaking initiativesDevelopment proposals affecting valued landscapes, heritage assets and rural communitiesYou will work alongside planners, urban designers, ecologists, heritage specialists and legal colleagues, ensuring landscape considerations are fully integrated into planning decisions from pre-application through to determination and delivery.About YouThe ideal candidate will a Degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture, experience in Landscape Planning or Landscape Management, a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (or eligible and working towards), Significant post-qualification experience in a relevant role, Sound understanding of development management processes and the planning system and have an ability to apply professional judgement pragmatically, creatively and proportionatelyWe're keen to hear from people who enjoy problem-solving, influencing outcomes, and working collaboratively to achieve positive results.Closing Date: 5th June 2026Interview Date: To be confirmed Why Join Us?We offer flexible working hours for most office-based roles, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
