The role would suit someone reliable, caring and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.DUTIESYour duties as the Kitchen Assistant will include:Maintaining health and safety food regulationsPreparing and serving food and cleaning the kitchenSetting up the service area for breakfast, lunch and evening mealsCleaning the dining room, kitchen, storerooms and outside storage areaChecking in goods for quality control and packing goods away on deliveryAssisting the chef with the daily running of the serviceSupporting the Chef Manager with deliveries, stock rotation and removing any out-of-date itemsCommunicating when products are running lowCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALAbility to follow instructions from the Chef Manager and Catering ManagerAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentComfortable engaging with elderly and vulnerable customers and their families in a caring and respectful wayConfident using computers for online training and basic systemsA positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to working well as part of a teamDESIRABLEPrevious experience working in a kitchen environmentBENEFITS25 days’ holiday (Plus Bank Holidays) increasing up to 28 days with 3 years of serviceUp to 8% contributory pensionAll permanent and fixed-term employees receive a generous annual allowance of up to £300 to use towards health and lifestyle benefits for both you and your familyThe organisation recognises that some people will only apply for a role if they meet 100% of role requirements.
