We are currently recruiting for Contingent Investigators - Investments for a 12-month assignment. Join our client, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the organisation that settles individual disputes between financial businesses and their customers. As the assignment is performed from home, you will need to provide your own equipment, such as laptop etc and have a reliable internet connection and appropriate environment for carrying out the assignment. The assignment will require you to investigate both sides of a dispute and then make a fair and reasonable decision on the outcome. You’ll begin your assignment by joining our internal training programme, conducted remotely, to ensure we are setting you up for success. The ideal candidate for this assignment will - have experience of resolving complaints/disputes and being the decision makerhave knowledge of the rules, guidance and regulatory framework within which these investment products are soldhave excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, with outstanding attention to detailhave a focus on quality, customer service and doing the right thinghave great written and verbal communication skillsbe able to handle customer enquiries on the telephone, building rapport and remaining composed under pressurehave experience managing conflicting deadlines with great time management skills You must have knowledge of the advice and sales process by which investment products are sold to retail clients including but not limited to - Capital protected structured investmentsISAsLifetime ISAsProperty fundsSavings endowmentsSpread bettingStocks and sharesWhole-of-life policiesUnregulated collective investment schemes Desirable criteria - CISI qualifications at Level 4 or above, for example in: Investment Operations, Wealth Management, Compliance and Risk, Financial PlanningCII qualifications at Diploma or above, for example in: Financial Planning, Paraplanning, Investment Operations, Securities Advice, Discretionary Investment ManagementQualifications from the Chartered Financial Analyst Society UKKnowledge of the wider investment industryKnowledge of tax planning and tax regulationsExperience in relevant financial industry roles In return you will be rewarded with a generous day rate - with in-depth training and support.
