This role involves taking ownership of our entire IT infrastructure, which includes servers, connectivity, backups and in time lead the transition to an Azure based cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assessing and understanding the current IT infrastructure, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Developing a comprehensive plan for transitioning to Azure based cloud infrastructure, prioritizing efficiency, security, and scalability as well as ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Proactively managing and maintaining servers, networking, and backup systems, ensuring high availability and performance. Implementing and overseeing robust cyber security measures, including data protection and disaster recovery plans. Manage our sharepoint infrastructure including migration of further files and creation and management of DLP policies. Manage the access to and security of our other cloud platforms. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to suggest and implement improvements to our IT infrastructure. Manage relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and products. Providing technical support and training to staff, enhancing their understanding and use of IT infrastructure resources. Skills: Proven experience in IT infrastructure management Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment and experience in migration and management of virtual servers Excellent understanding of networking concepts, data storage solutions, and backup strategies Experience in implementing and managing IT security protocols and disaster recovery plans Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills What's in it for you? Infrastructure Technical Specialist - Inside IR35 Contract - 6 monthsSupport * Manage incident and service request tickets, ensuring tasks are dealt with within SLA. * To work in accordance with the ITIL framework and governance standards ensuring that areas such as change control, incident and problem management, asset management, continual service improvement, and security best practice are considered and followed at all times.* To be prepared to provide flexible support for scheduled changes, upgrades or troubleshooting after hours or at weekends if required. * Monitor key health signs of infrastructure and respond to actual or predicted issues within SLA and with the minimum impact to business operation.* Continually look for areas for improvements in technologies and processes, and to proactively take steps to bring about positive change.* Support projects by assisting with the delivery of infrastructure related tasks.* Participate in investigations & remediation of any reported Security vulnerabilities or Security breaches.* Participate in Disaster Recovery initiatives including regular testing and ensure skills and knowledge across systems are maintained in order to assist with DR invocation.* Participates in 24x7 on call and out of hours support rota.Design and Development * Implementation of infrastructure design and build best practices.* Participates in technical design reviews, and contribute to infrastructure task estimates and reviews.* Help to drive technical enhancements across system real estate, proactively identifying areas for improvement* Raise concerns if requests will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues. * Consulting with colleagues and or clients with a view to specifying, designing and building infrastructure solutions.Implementation * Implementation of architectural and technical best practices to improve the overall quality and speed of infrastructure deployment. * Collaborates with peers, architects, and other key stakeholders to ensure understanding of business requirements on larger delivery items.* Creation of documentation to reflect existing systems, infrastructure & processes including the creation of Technical Design Documents. Position: IT Infrastructure Specialist Location of Office: Stoke-on-Trent Salary: Up to£48,000 The Role: A new position has now been created for an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our clients growing Engineering team and take on a key role within their team. Our client build, develop and deploy a range of industry leading detection devices that are deployed around the globe in a variety of hazardous locations. In this role you can expect to be involved in a range of activities from development, build, configuration, design and implementation of a range of bespoke IT hardware, network infrastructure and IT software solutions. The ideal IT Systems Engineer will be a Microsoft OS expert, familiar with Active Directory, MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) and Virtual Machines (VMware, Hyper-V etc). You should also be a real IT allrounder with skills and experience covering hardware configuration, network configuration, software validation and system support. In this role you can expect to work closely with a variety of other engineers from test, firmware, hardware and cybers security teams and should expect your role to offer you plenty of variety of tasks and problems to solve. This is not your standard IT Engineer role, and you should expect the to be very hands on and you will often be expected to carry out work in different production and engineering environments, whilst having the chance to travel internationally to work closely with customers around the globe should you want to.
