Customs Clerk

Key Benefits on offer:There is a great package which will be detailed at initial interview stage with Noble Recruiting.Permanent, Full-time position – Monday – Friday Good Progression opportunitiesFree parking on siteThis company is an exceptionally good employer with a reputation as an excellent place to work, they offer stability and all together good management and friendly, personable team!Your responsibilities include:Prepare, complete, and submit accurate import and export customs declarations in line with UK customs regulations and HMRC requirements.Ensure all shipments meet national and international laws and regulations, including tariff codes, valuation, and origin rules.Serve as the primary contact point, communicating effectively with internal teams, clients, suppliers, freight forwarders, port authorities, and government agencies to resolve queries and prevent delays.Monitor shipments and proactively resolve any customs stops, delays, or document discrepancies that may arise during the clearance process.Arrange for the transportation, warehousing, or distribution of goods post-clearance, coordinating with internal transport and warehouse teams. Ensure all work is completed within service level agreements (SLAs) and operational deadlines.You will need:Must have 2 years minimum customs clearance experience (essential).Experience of CDS essential, Descartes preferred but not essential.Full use of CNS and Destin8 port systems.ETSF experience is desirable.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with VAT and duty treatment for imports and exports.Experience working in a time-critical, compliance-driven environment.Good customer service skills.Ability to work in a team but also be self-sufficient.Confident and outgoing individual.Able to communicate in a clear, concise, and logical manner both verbally and written.Good time management skills.Driver with own transport is desirable.UK resident and the right to work in the UK.Important Notice: Noble Recruiting Limited, based in Billericay, Essex, is an equal opportunities employer.
