Scheme Housing Officer (Independent Living)Temporary | 12 Weeks | Inside IR35Croydon & Bromley (Multiple Schemes)35 Hours per WeekRates:PAYE: £16.56 per hourUmbrella/Ltd: £21.50 per hourStart Date: 2 February 2026Interviews: 19 January 2026 (Online – Microsoft Teams)The RoleRibble Recruitment is assisting a large housing provider with the appointment of a Scheme Housing Officer to cover long-term sickness absence.Reporting into a Team Manager, you will deliver a frontline housing management and support service across Independent Living, Sheltered, Extra Care and/or Over-55s schemes. The role focuses on ensuring schemes are safe, well-managed, and that residents are supported to live independently within active communities.You will work flexibly across multiple schemes within the Croydon and Bromley area and will be required to maintain a visible presence on-site, as well as attend meetings outside of core working hours when required.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver effective housing management and resident support services in line with policies, procedures, and agreed standardsSupport older residents to maintain independence, wellbeing, and community engagementEnsure schemes are safe, compliant, and well-managedWork collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve issues and meet residents’ needsManage your own workload effectively, working independently for much of the timeMaintain accurate records and use housing and communication IT systems effectivelyHandle customer feedback and complaints professionally and constructivelyEssential RequirementsExperienceExperience within care or support services, with an understanding of relevant legislation and good practiceUnderstanding of the diverse needs of older peopleSkills & AbilitiesResilient, self-motivated, and able to work independentlyStrong communication skills (face-to-face, telephone, email, and written)Customer-focused, with experience delivering high-quality customer careAbility to manage time, prioritise tasks, and work under pressureConfident in partnership working and problem-solvingProactive, flexible, and committed to continuous improvementCompetent in using IT and digital communication systemsOtherFull UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, or ability to meet travel requirements via public transportMinimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)DesirableExperience working with older peopleBackground in supported housing or housing-related support environmentsAdditional InformationNo fixed scheme base – supporting multiple schemes across Croydon & BromleyTemporary assignment for an initial 12-week periodInside IR35 engagementRecruitment ProcessInterview: Online, 45 minutes (Microsoft Teams)Submission Deadline: 12 January 2026Right to work in the UK and two years’ references/work history requiredRibble Recruitment is assisting the hiring organisation by managing candidate sourcing, screening, and the initial stages of the recruitment process.For further information or to apply, please contact:Lewis AshcroftRibble Recruitment
