Purpose of Post: The VLE/IT Officer will be working closely with academics, Administrators, Library and Learning Resources Department and other departments within the college, delivering support and communication for staff and students on the of the College's VLE and IT systems. This role is not just technical and involves vital customer contact, and the post holder will be expected to provide excellent customer service to students and staff. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Creating courses in categories on the Virtual Learning Environment VLE)Uploading users in cohorts on the VLEMaintaining and reviewing student/teacher users on the VLEMaintaining performance and updating the weekly log report from the VLEResolve Jira support tickets (e.g. password reset request)Producing VLE training material and other documentsUpdating Block (e.g. uploading timetable termly)Reviewing VLE connection log & record in report - TurnitinProactively managing enterprise applications (Abintego, Bibliu, NCL Portal etc.)Maintaining Turnitin synchronisingAssisting with the NCL HubAssisting with the maintenance of a central filing system within the department (Disaster Risk Management Log)Delivering support and training on the use of VLE, IT and other learning technologies to students, academic and support staffProvide first-line IT support to staff and students, offering technical assistance, troubleshooting common issues, and escalating where necessaryAssist senior staff with editing website contentPerforming any other tasks or activities that fall within the overall scope of the job Person Specification: The successful candidate should have the knowledge and competence required for standard acceptable performance in carrying out this role. The VLE/IT Officer should possess: Educated to A-level qualification or have relevant IT certificationExcellent problem-solving, logical thinking, and analytical skillsClear, concise written and verbal communicationStrong time management, organisation, and ability to prioritiseCustomer-focused with good interpersonal skillsKnowledge of IT hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows) or a desire to learnUnderstanding of data security best practices (e.g. GDPR)Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with other staffThe ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlinesKnowledge of Microsoft Azure AD/Intra ID (desirable) How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV and a Cover Letter detailing their relevant experience and qualifications.
