Housing Assistant
A small Housing Association in Central London is looking for a Housing Assistant for a 12 month maternity cover. Key responsibilities: Lead on all Lettings administration work, including preparing tenancy packs, preparation of tenancy void management, and ensuring compliance with CORE reporting. Repairs administration and management. Manage complaint administration, plus general administrative support as required. Respond to queries and keep residents updated. Maintain the resident database, ensuring that information is accurate and up to date. Provide advice to residents and signpost to other agencies where necessary. Responsible for overseeing and reporting on void turnaround times. Process applications from new applicants, internal transfers, and mutual exchanges Provide general advice and assistance to applicants regarding their housing options. Take payments and set up payment arrangements. Where appropriate, provide advice and assistance to residents on income maximisation by referring them to external agencies. Liaise with Local Authority to ensure residents receive their full entitlement to Housing Benefit or Universal Credit and to minimise overpayments. Build strong and collaborative relationships with residents and the local community. To work flexibly with colleagues and ensure adequate departmental and office cover where needed This is a hybrid working role with the expectation that the role requires attendance of the office at least three days a week. Skills and experience: Experience of working in a customer facing or front-line role. Proven experience of building strong and collaborative relationships. Ability to work accurately using complex databases and systems Ability to manage relationships with diverse customer base Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Competent and confident in use of IT with ability to use Microsoft Office packages Customer-centric, always adopting a resident-focussed approach that exceeds expectations
