Health & Safety Manager opportunity at a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield. Client Details I'm currently working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield to support them in finding a Health and Safety Manager to strengthen their HSEQ department. My client is a prestigious organisation based in South Yorkshire who design, manufacture and distribute a range of heavy industrial products, both across the UK and internationally. Given a recent restructure following some market growth the business is wanting to improve their H&S operating procedures, processes and safety ownership across the entirety of the manufacturing operation. As such this role would be a brilliant opportunity for someone who has experience of managing change through a business and implementing systems from scratch. Description The H&S Manager will act as the "competent person" for the business and will have responsibility for the company's Health and Safety policies and objectives across the site. Day to day responsibilities will include: Ensuring legal compliance and risk management are met through a robust system of policies and proceduresDriving the health & safety culture across the businessProviding high level advice and support to the Head of HSE & wider SLT teamCreate, develop and implement new/updated processes to keep up to date with relevant legislative changesActing as an expert on RIDDOR, manual handling, lone working, pregnant workers, and similar to ensure the safety of all employeesCarrying out audits and investigations to identify and implement preventative actionsMaintaining related documentation, reporting and records Profile Successful candidates will have a strong Health and Safety background, and an ability to lead and manage a small team of people. You will also have: Experience in a Health and Safety Manager role or similar within the manufacturing industryCapability of developing and implementing H&S processesIn depth knowledge of ISO 45001Be driven and resilient to change behaviours for the better of everyone's safetyAbility to act independently, be solution orientated and finding smarter ways to overcome obstaclesNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Job Offer £55-65k salary, depending on experienceExtremely competitive pension package25 days holiday + stats, with the option to buy 5 additional days after probationPrivate health care, onsite gym facilities, electric vehicle charging stations, cycle to work scheme and much more
