Our Client an established freight forwarder based in the Heathrow area is looking to recruit an multi modal freight operations coordinator to join their friendly team. Ideal candidate should have 2-3 years'experience within the freight forwarding industry in Exports, Imports, Cross Trade, and Customer Service. Customs experience is not required but an advantage if candidates has knowledge of procedures or customs entries. About the Role: Freight Import Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of ffreight shipments. This position requires a strong understanding of ocean freight operations, documentation, and trade terms. Responsibilities: · Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate execution. · Prepare and process necessary documentation, including shipping instructions, bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices. · Liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment flow. · Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to customers and resolving any issues that may arise. · Negotiate freight rates and contract terms with shipping lines. · Handle customs clearance procedures, including documentation and payment. · Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly. · Stay updated on industry regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements. · Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. · Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure seamless communication and coordination. ·Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ocean freight operations.
