Part time Financial Controller
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part time Financial Controller to work for this exciting charity on the outskirts of Durham. Your duties will be as follows: Overseeing day to day accounting for the charityPreparing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial forecastsSubmission of financial reports and statutory filings in compliance with charity regulationsProviding financial analysis to support decision-making for the senior management teamWorking closely with department heads to develop financial strategies, control costs,and optimising revenue streamsMonitoring and managing cash flow and ensuring availability of funds for operational needsResponsible for overseeing billing and collections processesLiaising with external auditors and ensuring smooth execution of annual auditsEnsuring compliance with financial regulations, including charity-specific requirementsLeading the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with the charity goalsProviding variance analysis and budget forecasts to the leadership teamDelivering monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, trustees,and stakeholdersSupporting funding applications and reports to external funders as neededOverseeing bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payableResponsible for one member of staff You will be a qualified Accountant or will be qualified by experience and you will have worked in a senior finance role previously. Experience of working with charities or non-profit organisations would be preferential, along with a good knowledge of VAT for complex organisations.
