Equifind are supporting a recently Private Equity backed SME in the Technology space who are hiring a Financial Controller to report into the Head of Finance. Based by Oxford Circus. Their global reach enables investment firms to carry out their work in a wide variety of dynamic sectors. The CWith a headcount of currently 150, will be rapidly expanding and this is a FC newly created position. Reporting into the Head of Finance, who is BIG 4 trained and comes with a host of PE experience under her belt and recently was in charge through the PE investment stage. She is seeking an up-and-coming qualified accountant who is ready to step up into this FC role. This hire will make the team eight in total. The Role This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced PE backed environment, where you will have autonomy to put processes in place and streamline the existing ones. The CFO wants someone confident to be able to partner with the C Suite. This role can grow into a FD position as the company grows. There will be a lot of PE exposure as the investment matures with a sale on the far horizon. There are a number of projects to get involved in. The role is broad and varied. A mix of being hands on as well as reviewing. • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the executive team to align with company financial objectives. • Month-End Consolidation: Lead the multi-entity, multi-currency month-end consolidation and close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Cash Flow Management: Ensure effective capital allocation and monitor liquidity to support business operations. • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets. • Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and drive growth initiatives. • Process Improvement: Optimize financial systems and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with indirect taxes and mitigate potential risks. • Corporate Provider Relationship Management: Oversee and manage relationships with external corporate service providers, ensuring they meet the company's operational and strategic needs. • New Systems Implementation: Lead the successful implementation and integration of a new finance systems. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be in a highly visible and challenging position. Responsible for the complete accounting and financial reporting of the business in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP.Your key deliverables will be to act as a single point of contact for the Finance Director, on accounting, reporting, and queries regarding US operations. Assist in the annual budget and forecasting process. Highlighting and explanation variances. Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, cashflow management, invoice processing and payments, external audit, and bank liaison. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures in line with corporate governance. Oversee all reporting functions responsible for producing of timely, accurate, USGAAP compliant financial results. This will including consolidated reporting, variance analysis, forecasted results, and accounting conclusions to relevant parties. You will drive a systems project, implementing a cloud-based accounting platform. You will also be involved with recruitment of finance staff, ensuring a positive work environment is created, one that supports the team and individual performance. You will also liaise with Divisional Financial Controllers across multiple locations.The Ideal applicant will have a professional qualification in either ACCA, CIMA, ACA with at least 3 years post qualified experience gained leading a finance team. You must be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal, decision-making and communication skills. The job holder must have the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet substantial deadlines. The expectation is that the role will grow significantly in the first year and give the holder the opportunity to stamp their mark on the department.
