We’re looking for a financial controller, who has a solid audit background, with a track record of interim work to come in and hit the ground running. Key duties and responsibilities for this financial controller position include: Responsible for the financial reporting for the GroupPreparation of annual financial statements and ownership/management of the year end audit processEngage with internal and third-party colleagues to ensure timely and accurate information flow, reporting and resolve any issuesSupport the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to build a rigorous internal control environmentCoordination and preparation of assigned information for monthly and annual reporting and external auditsPreparation and review of month end balance sheet reconciliationsPreparation and control of monthly management informationReview and management of work performed by the finance operations teamsPreparation of period regulatory returns and ongoing monitoring of regulatory compliance as required (i.e. monthly capital adequacy calculations)Preparation/review of VAT, Corporate Tax and any other tax returns, including ownership of the relationship with our external tax advisors.Assisting the Finance team with integrations of new acquisitionsAssist with various projects and ad hoc analysis Experience & Qualifications Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 4-8 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)Experience of working within the financial services sector is beneficialStrong audit backgroundStrong working knowledge of UK GAAPExperience of Sun would be beneficialStrong excel systems experienceBe a self-starter and deliver reports in a timely and accurate manner About the business An international financial services firm that has had tremendous growth over the past ten years. You will work closely with the head of finance for one of the divisions, with the daily and monthly duties a primary focus, in addition to any process enhancements to improve the day-to-day reporting framework. Managing multiple audits will also be part and parcel of this role. For this role, we are preferably looking for candidates happy to go into the London offices, two days per week. Daily Rate/Salary This financial controller opportunity in London will pay in the region of £80-85k pro rata, depending on experience and industry background. The Team The team advises on the full range of issues affecting financial services clients including Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA), Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules.The team also advises on the SMCR, conduct matters, bank prudential matters and on various issues around financial and operational stability, high level regulatory engagement, as well as supporting transactional, banking and funds structuring work.
