The Role As Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in shaping the financial strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. From overseeing project costing and cash flow to ensuring compliance and long-term planning, you will provide financial clarity and stability to the business. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the business and its project objectives.Project Cost Management: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure accurate project costing and profitability tracking.Operational Excellence: Oversee cash flow, supplier payments, and implement robust financial controls to safeguard assets.Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and manage risks effectively.System & Process Improvement: Enhance financial systems and processes to support efficiency and scalability.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Requirements Experience: Demonstrable success as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance role within construction, project-based, or manufacturing environments.Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong commercial and technical skills.Skills: Expertise in project costing, cash flow management, and financial reporting.Mindset: Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a proven ability to thrive in an SME setting.Systems: Experience in streamlining financial systems and driving operational efficiency, ideally experience with Xero would be advantageous.
