Centura provides business support including Management, SHEQ, Finance, HR, and Training to the individual businesses. Financial Accountant - The Role: To support the delivery of the statutory financial statements and the annual audit process. To be involved in the day-to-day running of the company accounts, with the responsibility of making observations of the financial state of the organisation. Key Responsibilities; • Support the Group Management Accountant• Support the Finance Corporate Team in ad-hoc and specific project works• Assisting with the preparation and production of timely, accurate and meaningful monthly management accounts, commentary, supporting analysis and variance reports• Coordinating annual audits. Examine and put into audit recommendations• Cash flow management - review and produce meaningful cash flow forecast with appropriate narrative• Supervise and lead a team• Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations - keeping up to date with financial policies and regulations• Responsible for external reporting (e.g. ONS, VOA, ATO, Revenue (Irish Tax and Customs), HMRC (VAT, CIS, P11D), States of Jersey and Companies House), ensuring that it is timely, accurate and in accordance with all statutory reporting obligations• Framework specific reporting (e.g. SDF, CWF)• Corporate allocation costing• Improving systems and processes, making suggestion and initiating corrective measures and enhancements where needed• Ensure processes within the department are documented so any team member would be able to temporarily carry out a function when required• System Upgrade Process/Implementation Process Financial Accountant - What we need from you: • Demonstrable knowledge of management accounts• Very well-developed PC skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer• Experience working in a role similar to this previously with a good financial background• Good all round Communication skills• Strong attention to details and ability to understand and resolve data errors easily• Very well-developed PC skills: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook• Financial reporting and analysis• Knowledge of standard accounting systems• Experience of reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102)• Budgeting• Managing tax payments• Cost and revenue analysis• Experience of working in construction would be beneficial• Strong organisational, written & verbal reporting, numerical and analytical skills• Financial management• Data management• Fully qualified accountant with a relevant up-to-date membership of a recognised professional body such as ACA or ACCA.• Relevant Degree / Higher, Advanced or Foundation qualification If you feel you have the skills and experience to be considered for this role, click on apply today forwarding and up to date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance No agencies please.
