With an existing team in place which deals with the main stay of preparation of all accounts and reporting, this role is strategic and commercial in essence. The business operatewithin the financial services sector and require someone who understands "warehouse financing" as this is a niche within their industry. In this FCA regulated environment the business requires the successful applicant to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). The business are looking to relocate from their existing site to more modernoffices,although they will be remaining in Watford. They have a large parent company which offers support to this division in terms of strategic and operational solutions if required. However, with an existing senior management team who have been in place for many years, there is much knowledge and support in-house. They're looking to hire a Finance Manager to join their expanding finance function on a permanent basis. Due to the nature of the business, this role would best suit someone with a solid background in project accounting, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sectors. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take full ownership of the end-to-end financial management of multiple client projects, with values ranging from £100K to £6 million, both across the UK and internationally. This is a busy and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a project-led environment, juggling multiple workstreams, and supporting senior leadership with accurate and insightful financial data. The ideal candidate will be ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or a strong QBE, with solid experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Project Accountant role. You'll have a track record of managing multiple live projects with overlapping deadlines, and a strong grasp of Excel is essential. Experience with multi-currency reporting is highly desirable, and while prior team management experience is preferred, it's not a dealbreaker, as you'll be overseeing a small transactional team, so some supervisory exposure would be beneficial. Job responsibilities: Produce full monthly management accounts Track project spend and produce regular costing reports and forecasts.Manage multi-currency reporting (GBP, EUR, USD).Take full ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across live projects.Oversee fixed asset registers, depreciation, and disposals.Produce and submit accurate VAT returns and ensure full VAT compliance.Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, and project cost allocations. About the Role: We are seeking an Interim Finance Director to provide financial leadership and support during a period of transition. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional with a proven track record of driving financial performance, managing risk, and delivering robust financial controls. The Finance Director will work closely with the CFO, senior leadership team, and key stakeholders to provide financial insights that shape business strategy, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure financial compliance. Key Responsibilities: Partner with the CFO and executive team to drive financial planning, forecasting, and long-term growth strategies. Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting (FRS102 & UK GAAP), and board-level financial presentations. Lead the annual budgeting process, financial modeling, and rolling forecasts to support business decision-making. Monitor and manage cashflow, funding requirements, and investment strategies to ensure financial stability. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax laws, and audit requirements, working closely with external auditors. Drive cost control measures, process improvements, and financial efficiencies across the business. Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring strong financial governance and best practices. Act as a key financial advisor to senior leadership, board members, and external partners. Key Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 8+ years of post-qualification experience.
