CREDIT CONTROLLER
Our client is a leading specialist business service group providing expert solutions to companies. They are seeking a highly organised and proactive Credit Controller/Administrator to join their dynamic team.Job PurposeThe Credit Controller/Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the finance and administration teams by ensuring effective management of receivables and maintaining accurate financial records. The role combines credit control, administration, and financial reporting responsibilities. Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Control & Ledger ManagementManage credit control for re-assigned and unencumbered ledgersIssue payment reminders via phone and email, and resolve disputes effectively.Monitor and collect balances ensuring prompt recovery of funds.Liaise with external advisors to track progress on factored ledgers Monitor receipt of deferred consideration and license fee payments; chase overdue instalments when necessary.Finance Administration & CaseworkUpdate Sage and internal systems with case progress and new settlements.Perform cashiering duties, including payment allocations, preparation of payment forms, and posting journals.Contact banks to arrange refunds of credit balances Reconcile and complete VAT reclaim on factor fees.Prepare interim reports Support & Case AssistanceProvide on-site support e.g., system backups, document collation, checklist completionReview and update weekly diary line schedules and maintain internal systemsAssist with preparation of standard letters and reports.Prepare credit notes and invoices as requested by third parties.Assist with monthly reporting and reconcile agent/solicitor accounts.Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in a credit control or finance administration role with a working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).Strong communication and interpersonal skills – confident in dealing with clients and stakeholders.High attention to detail with excellent time management and organisational abilities.Career development and training opportunities.Supportive and professional working environment.
