Their vision is to deliver independent, client-centric advice that builds long-term financial wellbeing.As they continue to grow, they have engaged Nenebrook Search to assist with the recruitment of a strategic and commercially minded Finance Director to join our senior leadership team and help shape the next phase of development.Role OverviewThe Finance Director will be responsible for leading the finance function and supporting the executive team in driving sustainable growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic input, ensuring robust financial control, compliance, and insightful reporting across the business.You will play a key role in guiding financial strategy, regulatory reporting (FCA), and the development of systems and processes to support scalability and acquisition growth.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipAct as a key member of the Board and Executive Team, contributing to overall business strategy and decision-making.Develop and deliver the firm’s financial strategy in line with corporate objectives and FCA regulatory obligations.Partner with senior leadership to drive profitability, growth, and operational efficiency.Financial Management & ReportingOversee all financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities.Produce accurate monthly management accounts, board reports, and KPIs.Lead the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure.Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data and compliance with UK accounting standards.Regulatory & ComplianceOversee all FCA financial reporting requirements, including capital adequacy and client money (CASS) obligations (where applicable).Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.Ensure all statutory filings and financial returns are submitted accurately and on time.Operational & Commercial InsightProvide commercial insight to support pricing, new business models, and acquisitions.Drive automation and efficiency improvements in finance systems and reporting.Support due diligence and integration in potential M&A activity.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational and compliance excellence.The ideal candidate will be Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 3-5+ Years PQEProven experience as Finance Director, Financial Controller, or Head of Finance within an FCA-regulated environment (preferably IFA, wealth management, or pensions).Demonstrated experience in financial strategy, planning, and board-level reporting.Strong commercial and business partnering focus to work closely with Partner Group / Fee EarnersExcellent leadership, communication, and influencing abilities / business partnering with key stakeholders Commercially astute with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.DesirableExperience within an acquisitive or private equity-backed business ideally professional / financial servicesExperience in managing finance transformations or system implementations.In return a competitive basic salary of £110,000 to £130,000 can be offered coupled with performance related bonus but also scope for equity participation.This position can be offered on a hybrid working basis and the business offer a outstanding wider benefits package coupled with excellent opportunity for continued growth and improve.
