Facilities Manager – £40,000 to £50,000 Location: Kidlington, OxfordHours: 37.5 per week | Permanent A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of a busy aviation-based operational site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced technical environment and enjoys being the go-to person for building maintenance, compliance, and site safety. The Role As Facilities Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of a large, high-value facility that includes office spaces, hangars, workshops, and technical areas. You’ll ensure buildings, services, and equipment remain safe, compliant, functional, and well-maintained, while also managing the security of two UK sites. This is a varied position where no two days are the same—ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and improving how a site operates. Key Responsibilities Manage all building maintenance activities, covering internal and external works, structural upkeep, cosmetics, plumbing, electrics, HVAC, mechanical systems, and hangar support servicesDevelop and deliver preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiencyEnsure full compliance with relevant legislation and standards (e.g., Fire Safety Regulations, building control requirements, health and safety obligations)Work closely with Procurement teams to negotiate and manage external contracts, support tender processes, and ensure value for moneyLiaise with specialist contractors, supervising and escorting them on-site where required to ensure work is delivered safely and to high standardsMonitor and manage annual facilities budgets, including utilities usage, forecasting, and capital expenditure proposalsContribute to sustainability initiatives, tracking energy consumption and implementing environmentally responsible improvementsOversee site security for both the Oxford and Aberdeen locations, including access control and personnel security processesSupport wider Facilities & HSE team activities and undertake reasonable additional duties as needed About You Highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise, and respond quickly to operational needsConfident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to explain facilities requirements clearly to staff and external partnersCapable of managing contractors assertively and ensuring workmanship meets required standardsGood working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelAbility to interpret and research regulations relating to facilities, maintenance, and safetyGeneral understanding of building systems (electrical, ventilation, heating, etc.) is advantageous Requirements Must be eligible for DBS and Security Clearance (SC)Must meet relevant Export Compliance RequirementsMust have the legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available) Benefits Competitive salary (£40,000–£50,000)Private medical insuranceGenerous pension schemeAnnual discretionary bonus schemes and share schemesAccess to employee purchase programmes (tech, bikes, cars)Health assessments, insurance options, and wellbeing benefitsShopping discounts, financial advice services, and more
