Facility ManagerLocation: Darwen, Preston & WiganDepartment: Operations / Facilities ManagementReports To: Operations DirectorJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and highly organised Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, cleanliness, maintenance, and general upkeep of multiple sites across Darwen, Preston, and Wigan. The successful candidate will ensure all facilities are maintained to a high standard, coordinate reactive and planned maintenance, manage contractors and support staff, and resolve technical or operational issues efficiently to ensure smooth business operations across all locations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the overall condition, presentation, and cleanliness of all company sites across Darwen, Preston, and WiganConduct regular site inspections to ensure facilities are safe, clean, compliant, and operating efficientlyCoordinate and manage reactive and preventative maintenance worksHandle technical issues and arrange repairs with external contractors or internal teams where requiredManage relationships with maintenance providers, cleaners, suppliers, and service contractorsEnsure all health & safety procedures and compliance standards are maintained across all sitesMonitor facility-related costs and assist with budget control where necessaryMaintain maintenance logs, service records, and compliance documentationRespond promptly to emergencies, operational issues, or urgent repair requirementsSupport operational teams to ensure facilities remain fully functional at all timesAssist with site improvements, office moves, installations, and general operational projectsEnsure waste management and housekeeping standards are consistently maintainedRequirementsPrevious experience in Facilities Management, Site Management, or Building OperationsStrong understanding of general maintenance, building systems, and technical troubleshootingExcellent organisational and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple sites and prioritise workloads effectivelyStrong communication and contractor management skillsKnowledge of health & safety and facilities compliance requirementsAbility to work independently and respond effectively under pressureFull UK driving licence requiredDesirable SkillsExperience managing commercial or warehouse facilitiesBasic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systemsIOSH or Health & Safety qualification preferredExperience coordinating external contractors and maintenance schedulesWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryCompany vehicle or travel allowance (if applicable)Career progression opportunitiesSupportive and fast-paced working environmentCompany pension and additional benefits (where applicable)
