As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects from inception through to completion. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project costs are accounted for while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for a range of construction projects.Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to gather information for estimates.Attend pre-tender and project meetings to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.Collaborate with project managers and other team members to identify potential risks and scope changes.Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.Generate and maintain accurate cost databases for future reference.Utilise estimating software to produce detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Requirements Proven experience as a qualified estimator in the construction industry.Strong understanding of construction methods, costs, and regulations.Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred but not mandatory. As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, helping to guide decision-making and project planning. You will work closely with senior estimators and project managers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field. You will be trained to analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates on time. Responsibilities Review project drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.Assist in compiling and analysing data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labour required for construction projects.Support senior estimators in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and price analysis.Participate in meetings with vendors and subcontractors to gather quotes and information.Maintain an organized database of estimates and project costs.Learn to utilise estimating software and tools effectively.
