The role of Environmental Manager is to provide essential knowledge, advice and support to the local site leadership & management to enable them to operate in accordance with the environmental guidelines and targets for the Hinkley Point C site.Main Responsibilities Promote a positive Environmental Culture throughout all the projects, legal entities and the supply chain.Contribute to Environmental commitments by highlighting and promoting best practice ensuring environmental policies and procedures are implemented and utilised across all aspects of the HPC project work scopes.Liaises with the relevant stakeholders at site and across the LE's and project teams, leading on the implementation of environmental P&P and monitoring, reporting to achieve mandatory compliance requirements and performance. Monitor and review regular site performance through inspections and audits, including impact assessment to reduce environment risks and costs, recording any findings and highlighting any areas for improvement of practice.Agree remedial action with site management on any non-conformance and carry out follow up review to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.Prepare and deliver reports on project environmental performance targets / KPI's in line with business, client and regulatory reporting requirements. Deliver proactive advice and guidance on site to ensure environmental processes are followed and key behaviours are embedded across the HPC project work packages.Identify any relevant environmental related training requirements to ensure compliance on site; prepare and deliver training as required.Manage the application of effective environmental incident response, reporting, investigation and follow-up to ensure root causes are established and appropriate actions are identified and closed out Experience & Qualifications Environmental HND / Degree approved by IOSH in a relevant environmental subject, IOSH Qualification

This is a full-time role and being offered initially on a temporary basis for a minimum of 3 months therefore you must be available immediately to be considered for the role. You will be joining an established Health, Safety and Environment team providing support to the delivery and management teams on site, meeting legislative, parent company and client specific requirements. Ideally this role is suitable for individuals who already have a have a good working knowledge of the construction and civil engineering industry. However, those without industry experience will be supported to succeed in the role. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Work within an HS&E team supporting the project throughout its lifecycle.Keep, maintain, and upload records on systems such as SharePoint.Learn and use the client HS&E reporting tool for observations, inspections, and incidents.Maintain HS&E related data, registers, and trackers. i.e. health surveillance, training.Collate and maintain HS&E information from inspections and maintain a weekly action trackerObtain and collate information for monthly statistical analysis and the production of performance summaries.Produce HS&E guidance posters, bulletins, alerts, and monthly dashboards, presentation slidesAdhere to and promote the project values to achieve a positive and safe working environment. KEY SKILLS: Prior administration experience in a similar or supporting post.Excellent advanced IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage however not essential).Good communication skills.Ability to work on own initiative and deliver key objectives.Strong organisational skills.Attention to detail.Ability to prioritise effectively.Interest in Health, Safety & Environment.
